How to buy REQ from Binance? Step by step guide

If you are new to exchanges, it can look quite complicated. We have written a manual especially for starting investors to familiarize you with an exchange. The example was written for Binance, one of the largest exchanges at the moment, but can of course also be used for another exchange. Below is a rough step-by-step plan, if you need more explanation, see the How does Binance manual.

  1. Create an account on the official website
  2. Log in and go to Funds in the top right corner and click on Deposits
  3. Transfer Bitcoin or Ethereum to your Binance wallet. You can easily buy this with iDEAL or Bancontact.
  4. In the top left of the Binance portal, go to Exchange and then click on Basic
  5. Search on REQ in the search field on the right. If you have transferred Ethereum, first click on ETH in yellow.
  6. You will see Buy REQ at the bottom of the pageBuy or sell at Binance Request Network

What is Request Network?

Request Network (REQ) LogoAlmost everyone knows Bitcoin, but there are many more different coins on the market. For example, Ethereum and Litecoin are also high in the rankings when we look at the market cap (the total market value of the coin). REQ is still partly in its infancy but is already referred to as the new PayPal. If you look at blockchains, they are mainly known for turning the financial world upside down. But look around you, in how many places can you actually pay with Bitcoin, for example? REQ wants to change this. It wants to act as an intermediary, like iDEAL and PayPal, but with all the extras that a blockchain brings. An advantage over other intermediaries such as PayPal is that REQ works with low transaction costs. Your identity is also safe, you do not have to leave your personal information as with PayPal, of which you actually do not know at all what they do with your data.

Who is behind Request Network?

The Request Network teamRequest Network was conceived and set up by the makers of Moneytis, a website with which you can safely and quickly make transactions all over the world. This team consists of a group of experts with extensive knowledge of the financial industry and who have experience with blockchain. Their goal is to reinvent the world of commerce with REQ. This team consists of 9 people, including the 2 co-founders Chrystophe Lassuyt and Etienne Tatur. The entire team is depicted on the website. It is always nice to see who is behind your investment. Check out the picture on the right to see who is on the team.

Another factor that shows that REQ has potential is that many large companies dare to enter into partnerships with REQ. There are several other cryptocoins that support REQ, such as 0X, Aragon and Civic. There is also interest in REQ in the Netherlands. ING Bank, the largest financial investor in the Netherlands, works closely with the REQ team.

The largest party interested in REQ is Y Combinator, a start-up accelerator. This means that this company invests in startups with a lot of potential and supports these startups with knowledge and a large network. Y Combinator has done a particularly good job with now household names, such as AirBnB, Reddit, Dropbox and

Use of REQ in practice

In practice, REQ is nothing more than transferring money. Suppose you want to buy a computer from someone in America. You send the seller a message that you want to pay € 500 for it. The seller then sends you a request via REQ, a request, to pay this amount. Without leaving any personal information you can transfer the money to the seller at the touch of a button. In this case Request Network will ensure that your euros are converted into US dollars.

Request Network payment in practice

But what about transaction costs? At REQ you also pay for the transaction and here the REQ tokens are discussed. When you make a payment, a little bit of REQ coins will be destroyed. The more people use REQ, the lower these transaction costs will be. In the end, for example, it could only cost 0.001 REQ. This ensures that there is always a demand for REQ coins. Incidentally, you do not have to have coins yourself if you want to use the REQ payment service. When you buy REQ you invest in tokens that can be used for the transactions. REQ started at a value of $ 0.04 in October 2017.

Request Network wallet

Of course you also have a wallet where you keep the REQ tokens if you want to buy REQ. You can choose between a digital wallet and a hardware wallet. A mobile or desktop wallet is especially useful if you want to quickly access your tokens and is suitable for small to medium amounts. Examples include MyEtherWallet, Jaxx and If you plan to invest in large amounts and want a guarantee that your coins are safe, we recommend a hardware wallet. This is a physical wallet (a kind of USB) that functions as a safe. So you cannot easily reach it, but it is much safer. Examples of this is the Ledger Nano S.
